What is the Best Snowmobile for You
What Kind of Sled Do You Really Need?
Man, this is a million dollar question. Why? Because the right sled gives you the most joy. It's like your significant other. If you are a good fit with him/her, you spend more time together. Isn't that what we all want with our snowmobiles? I do!
Below are some of the mountain sleds we sell and a what makes each one a great snowmobile!
Summit Adrenaline: Great Mtn Sled that is still a good all rounder. Comes with a snowflap, so it keeps a little cooler than a pure mtn package without snowflap. Who is it good for? Well, it's a really good mountain sled at the best starting price of mountain sleds, so it's a good option for people who want a highly capable mountain sled without quite the expense of the even more mountain focused Edge, X, Expert or Freeride.
Summit Adrenaline w/Edge Package: Close to the standard Summit Adrelaline with less concern for the trail to the good stuff! Why? Well it's got a 34" front end instead of a 36" -- more tippy on trail, easier to tip in powder. It has a short tunnel/long track design -- more easily pushes deep snow out of the tunnel without a snowflap and more easy to overheats on a trail without a snowflap.
Summit X: Oh man, this one is a crowd favorite! It's like the Edge with better suspension, adjustable limiter strap, lower bars and different color options. It's really the lightest, easiest handling of all the off-trail Doos. Probably the best choice for the most people who want the best backcountry experience. It is available in Turbo or non-Turbo, and that's a real discussion to have as well. More power isn't better for everyone, and the NA version of the X is still a comparably affordable way into a badass off trail sled while the Turbo costs a few K more!
Summit X w/Expert Package: My fave for a couple years now has been the NA version of the expert. But, it takes a bit more effort to plant in a sidehill or turn in technical conditions -- super planted when you do though. It has a rigid track, creating a bit of that extra effort requirement, and a bit stiffer suspension than an X. Also available in Turbo and non-Turbo.
Freeride: Well, I've thought about this one a lot. It just looks agressive and fun. Best suspension of the bunch for dropping big ledges, hitting obstacles hard and overall hooliganism! You need a little attitude with this badassery between your legs! Turbo for the super crazy available; non-turbo available for the average crazy!
Well good people, you see you have some options and all are great Ski-Doo Snowmobiles. And I have loved some sleds and motorcycles in my life that I couldn't ride quite as well as others. We sometimes forget that a grin from the Turbo noise makes some people more happy than a re-entry, or a straight line rip down a long meadow is more heart-stopping than a steep sidehill to others. Just have your fun, but spend some time chatting with me when you buy. I love getting people on the best "fun-factor" sleds for them, not me. Although I'm always happy to share which is my favorite and why! I don't just sell snowmobiles, I ride them all winter long and have for more years that I can count. My wife and I ride every weekend once the snow gets good and we want as many of our customers out enjoying what makes Colorado so great. See you out there!
